This experience of NB23Things is coming to a close. I have learned a great deal over the past few months and am glad to have participated as actively as I have. I may continue to use some elements more than others moving forward (scoop.it!) but I am glad that I have this new knowledge.
Stumbleupon was a very interesting site. I found that it functions quite similar to those of scoop.it. I have similar feelings towards the two applications. I may find myself going from one to the other for hours without realizing what I am doing!
Keep on, keeping on! and carry on!

What do I see when looking in a mirror?
My reflection!
Of all the Things, I really liked joining scoop.it. The possibilities were endless within that site. More specifically, I liked Thing19, when we were asked to share an article on Twitter. I found that combining what we were learning with our previous weeks was a very good way to hammer home that knowledge.
For my position, I found Thing 10, Follow a reader with similar reading interests in Vision, to be quite useful. I had used certain aspects of Vision in the past, however, never the follow option. I could see myself suggesting that patrons take advantage of this function.
I was surprised to discover how simple it can be to register and use the sites that we were shown. Linking Twitter to Pinterest and scoop.it made everything very easy.
I will surely use scoop.it to stay up to date on topics of interest to me, both professionally and personally.
I feel very happy to have completed the 23NB program. Some weeks were more familiar to me than other weeks, and the challenge was apreciated. I gained more by learning some neat new things!
When we first started this program with blogging, I wasn't sure I would be able to go very far. I have never blogged or written a journal or diary. I wasn't convinced that I would be able to think of things to write about every week. This experience has shown that I am able to do something like this. I am curious to see how often I will be writing in the future!

A funny thing app-ened while completing this week
I found this week to be the most difficult as I do not have a mobile device. No tablet or smart/super phone for this clerk.
I do have an ereader and have previously both downloaded and returned ebooks with it. I found the process to be quite fun!

Extra! Extra! Read all about... scoop.it!
Scoop.it is a great resource for everyone! Of all the 23things to date, I am most excited about this site.
Linking the account through Twitter made the process quite easy and straightforward. I was easily able to tweet interesting articles and share them with my followers.
With youtube, I often find myself falling into a wormhole, linking from video to video without realizing the time. I could see myself doing the same with scoop.it.
Excellent resource this week!

Book Trailers
I have long been a fan of movies and movie trailers. It is only recently that I learned that there were trailers for books.
The first one that I remember seeing was for One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories by B. J. Novak.

Similarily to book trailers, podcasts are something that I have used un the past, but for entertainment as opposed to education. The suggested sites offered up this week had a variety of great information available.
I have recently been reading a lot of YA fiction. I found that doing so is a great way to travel back and feel a little younger. I found a some webinars offering information on upcoming titles in YA fiction that I will be keeping an eye out for!

Imaginative Images?
As a new cat owner, I thought it would be interesting to look up photos of cats reading.
Here is a good one:
Cat Reading
In order to try a Wordle, I decided to use the nb23 blog and came up with this.
I started this week a while ago but was not as comfortable as to the giving credit properly. I decided to give it a go this week and see what happens.

Pinterest for the Win-terest
This week, we have jumped into the world of Pinterest. As with previous weeks, the setup and registration was not very complicated. The site offered a great tutorial to get me on the way.
I have seen Pinterest updates on my facebook newsfeed from time to time over the years, but have never been very active with it. The possibilities that I have seen thus far seem to be endless!

Social Reading
When it comes to reading, I have always been fond of recomendations. Both giving and receiving. I have a few trusted acquaintances that always point me in the right direction and towards great books. We don't go too deep into the meaning of anything, we just apreciate the story for what it is: a story.
I set up my vision account a few months ago, when I first got my library card with the NBPLS. The process was very user-friendly. I found that the FAQ section was very useful when creating my list, not only for the how-to, but also for the suggestions as to what to include.
I am not usually one to make post comments on blogs or articles, but this week, I tried something new. I happened to have a story for one of the books on the list I had created and decided to share that.
I also followed someone. I am sure that this will open my eyes to some new genres as well as some old!
I have been Using Goodreads for a few months now and really like it! I am always looking at my stats and setting up different shelves to organize the books I have read/want-to-read. THe option of setting up a goal for the year is fun to do aswell.

This week, I started a Twitter account.
I have some experience with this form of social media. I decided to create a new account in order to go through the process again and found it to be quite straightforward. There are many interesting people to follow in the Twitterverse. I expect to have more fun with this than with blogging.

nbplsfx5's First Blog Entry
This is my first time writing a blog.
I found the experience of setting up a blog very simple. The instructions we were given were very easy to follow.
Writing an entry is more difficult, as I am not normally an active participant in the self-promotion culture that blogs encourage. I apreciate the idea behind the 23 Things NB initiative and will be investing my time to explore new things.
Using the labels function was very easy as well. The ability to search my posts as we go along will be useful.
